We have already flagged up the crisis faced by Falls of Clyde, the 1878 four-masted full-rigged ship facing destruction in Hawaii. After what appears to be years of systematic neglect of a stupendous tall ship, her operators, the Bishop Museum of Honolulu, have finally sought to have her sunk.
We have championed the similar case of the City of Adelaide: this is, if anything, a more pressing cause. At the very least, City of Adelaide has her legal quagmire as a dubious saviour: Falls of Clyde is literally weeks away from being towed out to sea and sunk. We urge you to have a look at this website: Save The Falls of Clyde has the full story on her predicament, including a petition to help save her. To see this ship be sunk for the sake of a few hundred thousand dollars is nothing short of scandalous.
