The collection is in the process of being moved to the East Berwickshire fishing port of Eyemouth at the centre of the stunning scenic World Heritage East Coast Scottish Border landscape. Here the collection will be progressively restored and conserved as an asset of global significance.

Book Review: The Racing Horlocks

This major new addition to the history of Thames Barge racing focuses on the Horlock family's unrivalled success spanning over 100 years. The book combines Chubb Horlock's racing experiences with aspects of design, tactics and descriptions of the races on the Thames, Medway, Blackwater and Orwell rivers. It also includes appendices, barge index and bibliography. Produced in hardback, it is 176 pages and features over 150 illustrations, many of which are previously unpublished.

Now the Tall Ships' Races have been completed for this year, planning is already underway for the 2010 Races.
The Host Ports/Dates are as follows:
Aalborg, Denmark: 21st-24th July
Kristiansand, Norway: 29th July - 1st Aug
Hartlepool, UK: 7th-10th Aug

National Historic Ships is a Non Departmental Public Body advising the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport on national historic ship preservation and funding priorities. It also advises the Heritage Lottery Fund and other public funding bodies on preservation priorities and individual applications. It also acts as a focus for advice on aspects of the preservation of historic vessels and maintains the National Register of Historic Vessels.
